I started this summer coming down from a TON of work projects and events – constantly breathing (deeply) through each one to keep my sanity through all of the moving parts and human interactions.
Life doesn’t always calm down simply because we want it to. Yet God’s peace isn’t dependent on our circumstances. Philippians 4:7 reminds us that God’s peace stands watch like a guard at the door of our hearts.
It doesn’t mean we’ll never feel stress—but it does mean we don’t have to be consumed by it.
Week 3 of GRACEforUs.net’s Summer Bible Study Series shows us that when we bring our worries to God and trust Him, His peace fills the spaces where anxiety once lived.
Our Bible study lesson comes from The Book of Philippians, a letter written by Paul the Apostle, emphasizes joy, humility, and unity within the Christian community, particularly within the church in Philippi. It’s known for its positive tone, even though Paul wrote it while imprisoned.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7 (NIV)
