Spread the love

Jesus said; greater love hath no man than this; that a friend lay down his life for his friends.

How about someone who lays down his life for his enemies? What kind of love is that?

We all have sinned. As sinners we became the enemy of God. We caused Jesus, the Son of God, to be crucified on the cross. Jesus paid the penalty of death for all sinners.

God is merciful and full of compassion. God gave the world – GRACE

John 3:16; For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit we experience conversion, which helps us to understand the love of God. The Holy Spirit helps us, by faith, to believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit helps us to humble ourselves and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

I remember my brother Alan, his wife Cynthia, my wife June, and myself boarding a plane to Hilo and witnessing our dad being baptized at a church in Puna, on the Island of Hawai’i.

Dad was raised in the Buddhist faith. After hearing the word of God at the age of 84, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Mom had been praying for dad for over 50 years. Her faith—believing in the faithfulness of God to do as we ask in the name of Jesus Christ—was answered and rewarded.

Our dad, Hideyuki Koide, and our mom, Theodora Leinaala Poepoe Koide, after moving and living in Hilo for approximately 15 years, decided to return and to live on Oahu in 2013.

Mom, on February 23, 2016, died at the age of 93. Dad, on November 9, 2019, died at the age of 97.

Mom and Dad were surrounded with the love of family members and friends. They lived the remaining days of their lives with love, peace and joy. They went to sleep peacefully, believing in Jesus Christ.

When this Gospel of Christ has been given to the world, Jesus will return and take those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior to the heavenly place called home.
